Sue first became interested in movement at Sussex University, completing her postgraduate studies with M.Phil.in movement skills. Tina Pilgrim and Janet Burgess, both examiners of the Royal Academy of Dance, trained Sue. Her studies included anatomy, the history of dance as well as all practical aspects of the RAD syllabus. In 1982 she was principal for a branch of a large Cambridge dancing school moving on to manage her own school.

Sue has taught both GCSE Dance and A Level Performing Arts Dance. In thirty years of teaching, she has successfully entered candidates for the Royal Academy of Dance examinations. Sue has also been successful in winning lottery funding for an Art Projects in dance performance and music workshops.

In line with RAD regulations, Sue completed her Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in 2013/2014 that included The Open University ‘Dance Skills and EduCare Child Protection in Sport and Active Leisure’. Currently, she is the Child Protection Officer for FirstSteps School of Dance.
