Teachers
The staff at FirstSteps School of Dance are all Royal Academy of Dance qualified teachers and have received specialist training. Most of our teachers were professional dancers who worked both nationally and internationally.
FirstSteps has mentored many teachers over the years who go on to teach and, open schools of their own. Esperanza Carmona and Sarai Scott Neale have remained here at FirstSteps. Esperanza has gained her certificate in Progressing Ballet Technique PBT, and Sarai is now a qualified RAD Silver Swans teacher.

Our teachers are committed to professional development (CPD) and are required by the RAD to fulfil continuing professional development criteria annually. This is to uphold high teaching standards. Safeguarding is a compulsary element of CPD.
All teachers have Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates. FirstSteps School of Dance has a comprehensive Child-Protection-Policy-2025.
The Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus is recognised by the QCA schools examining body and can be converted into UCAS points.
